African Fat Tailed Gecko

The African Fat-Tailed Gecko (Hemitheconyx caudicinctus) is a terrestrial gecko native to West Africa, recognised for its stocky build, distinctive banded pattern and characteristically thick tail, which stores fat reserves. Generally secretive and most active at night, this species spends much of its time sheltering in secure hides.

This juvenile is a great opportunity to raise one of these distinctive geckos as it grows. It requires a suitable terrestrial enclosure with secure hides, a warm temperature gradient and appropriate humidity.
