Infrared Basking Lamps

Infrared Basking Lamps provide focused heat for reptile enclosures, creating a localised basking area where reptiles can warm themselves and regulate their body temperature. They are designed for use as part of a suitable daytime heating setup.

The appropriate wattage and positioning will depend on the species, enclosure size and distance between the lamp and basking surface. Always monitor temperatures with a reliable thermometer and provide a cooler area within the enclosure so your reptile can move away from the heat when required.

For species requiring UVB, use an appropriate UVB source alongside the basking lamp, as a basking lamp should not be assumed to provide sufficient UVB.
